W/ 2 strands of yarn cast on 79 sts; do not join;
work back & forth in rows.

Row 1 (wrong side): Work in Seed St for 7
sts, * place marker on right needle; P 11
(Chevron Panel), place marker on right needle;
work Seed St for 7 sts; rep from * across row.

Row 2: Work in Seed St to marker; * move
marker to right needle, work Row 2 of Chevron
patt, move marker, work in Seed St to marker;
rep from * across row.

Row 3: Rep Row 1.

Row 4: Rep Row 2, BUT work Row 4 of
Chevron Panel patt.

Row 5: Rep Row 1.

Row 6: Rep Row 2, BUT work Row 6 of

Row 7: Rep Row 1.

Row 8: Rep Row 2, BUT work Row 8 of

Rep these 8 rows until afghan measures
approx 36" ending by working Row 8.

Bind off loosely in patt st.
FRINGE
Follow Single Knot Fringe Instructions below.
Cut strands 16" long & use 2 strands doubled
for each knot. Tie knot through every other
cast-on or bound-off st across each short end
of afghan.

SINGLE KNOT FRINGE
Hold specified # of strands for 1 knot of fringe
tog, then fold in 1/2. Hold afghan w/ right side
facing you. Use crochet hook to draw folded
end through space or st from right to wrong
side & pull loose ends through folded section &
draw knot up firmly. Space knots as indicated
in patt instructions. Trim ends of fringe evenly.
